Paint for Pink is a breast cancer and health awareness event supported and run by Ironbound USA.
How did Paint for Pink start
Paint for Pink was started in 2015 in honor of Lisa Byron and now continues in her memory. After years of valiantly fighting breast cancer our Lisa passed on December 8th, 2016. Lisa is survived by her kids Alec & Nicole, her parents & sister, her many friends, her two dogs Frank & Josie and her long time partner/modern husband Gary Bloore who started and leads Paint for Pink in her memory.
We continue to educate and combat this dreaded disease for Lisa and the many others who fight the good fight. Please do not mistake the smiling faces, the cool art, the good music etc for our serious commitment to do more than our share to help educate those who do not know. We have expanded Paint for Pink to include more health education through our Certifiably LIT Health Initiative with the Rutgers School of Nursing. In September 2018 we completed our second pilot program of Certifiably L.I.T.
Through Paint for Pink we want to educate youth about some of the essential and critical elements of health. We believe Lisa would be proud of our efforts.
